Some facts about our Ice Cream
English Lakes Ice Cream produce a comprehensive range of Ice Creams and Sorbets and our aim is to make ice cream thats available to as many people as possible.
Our Double Jersey Ice Cream is made with fresh ingredients, including whole milk, Jersey cream and butter. Available in 14 flavours including Luxury Double Jersey, Death by Chocolate, Crushed Strawberry and Blackcurrant, this range of ice cream is made only from natural ingredients.
We keep our sorbets as fresh as possible primarily using only fruit and fruit juice rather than colours and flavours, giving a really tangy taste.
Our diabetic ice cream is available in 3 flavours and continues to be as popular as our regular ice cream. Sold in distinctive white tubs, we have lowered the fat content from around 11% to 5% and replaced the sugar component with fructose rather than using artificial sweetners.
While our ice cream isn't organic, we use organic milk in many of our products. Supplied by South Lakes Organic Milk in Ulverston, Swarthmoor Hall Farm was certified organic in 2001 and like ouselves, is a family run business farming over 80 hectares of land.

Dietary Information
Eggs
None of our ice creams or sorbets contain eggs.
Cereals
Some people are allergic to cereal products (coeliacs), all of our products (with the exception of our Apple Crumble Ice Cream) are suitable for people with this condition.
Nuts
Some of our products contain nuts e.g. Maple and Walnut. Whilst we do not use nuts or nut products unless stated we can not guarantee that there will be no nut traces in other products.
Vegetarians
All our products are suitable for vegetarians as apart from cream and butter, no other animal fats or derivatives are used in our production processes. As our range of ice cream includes milk based products, these will not be suitable for vegans, however our sorbets contain no ingredients derived from animals.
Gluten
All our products are gluten free with the exception of Apple Crumble Luxury Dairy Ice Cream.
Lactose
Some people are allergic to lactose, the natural sugar in milk, only our sorbets will be suitable for these customers.
Genetically Modified Products
Absolutely none of our ingredients contain genetically modified compounds. Some of our products such as blackcurrant contain "modified starch" this is simply maize starch which has been treated (not genetically modified) to stop the product becoming too thick and chewy when frozen.
Colours, Flavours and Preservatives
Our products contain no preservatives and only natural flavours and colours.
